About Andover Turf Company
We supply a wide variety of customers and projects, including national builders, local authorities, professional landscapers and private individuals, many of whom are repeat customers. The companies’ greatest advertisement is the recommendations of former and existing customers to their neighbours and friends.
The company has been in present ownership with Mr Boutcher-West since 1981 having been founded in 1968 by the late Allan Potter. Over 40 years we have seen many industry changes from the early days of the walk and pick up by hand turf lifting process, to today's self steering Kesmac turf harvester. We cut a cleaner crisper turf than we used to do with less effort, better weather protection for our staff and using less fuel in the process. We grow our own specially prepared seed mix, AndoverTurf, from seed on local Hampshire fields. We have also developed a careful growing system to minimise our use of chemicals where ever we can, treating only specific plants if no other natural remedy is available. Regular mowing keeps weeds to a minimum and our turf in perfect health.
In addition, since 1987, we have acted as a distributor for Inturf and this allows the supply of a choice of specialist turf produced on sandy soils. Inturf supply grass mixes specifically grown to a high standard for every possible situation and surface, from golf greens, sports pitches and prestige landscaping.
In 2015 we delivered our 8th million square metre of Andover turf and continue to serve the industry with the best product we can. We provide soils and a range of other products to offer a complete service to the professional landscaping and domestic garden market.
